Webmail - Using Outlook to read Emails

Outlook is a Microsoft software for read and send emails on your pc. There are many versions, up to the operative system (Windows2000, Xp, Vista) and relative Office suite.

There are a lot of clients with similar features like Incredimail, Thunderbird, Mail.

These softwares are called Mail Client. They use SMTP and POP or IMAP protocols to communicate with the mailserver.

If you want to configure your email adress on Outlook (or Windows Mail with Vista OS):

  • Start the program
  • Tools - Account

You will se a label like this print:

In this image there are no accounts. You may see them into "Email" list.

You can add, edit or delete an email account with the right menu.

Add a new E-mail account:

  • Add
  • Account
  • Insert name you want to see when you'll open Outlook

  • Put E-mail adress
  • Put the right server configuration data

    Data have to be:
    Mailserver for the incoming Emails:POP3
    Incoming email Server posta:your domain name WITHOUT WWW (as yourdomainname.com)
    Sending E-mail Server:your domain name WITHOUT WWW (as yourdomainname.com)
    Check option "Server Authentication Required"
  • Put your username and password. You can chose to let Outlook remember yuor password or put it every time you'll make login.

You've created your account. If you want to edit or delete it you only have to do the same operations from the same panel.
